Turkish border guards detain two Russians at Turkish-Syrian border

ANKARA, January 21. /ITAR-TASS/. Turkish border guards detained two Russian nationals who had crossed into Turkey from Syria, the Turkish General Staff said on Tuesday, adding that the incident took place on January 20.

According to the General Staff, the two men were walking from Syria to Turkey in the military no-go zone. They had bags in their hands. The two men were later identified as Russian nationals.

Turkish law enforcers seized a Glock handgun, seven mobile telephones, three SD cards and a hard drive from them. The two were taken to a police station in the Altinozu district.

Russian diplomats are taking efforts to verify this information.
