Prime Minister Azarov to represent Ukraine at Davos Economic Forum

President Viktor Yanukovich would not be able to attend the forum in connection with urgent work on the regional budgets, presidential press service stated

KIEV, January 21. /ITAR-TASS/. Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov will represent Ukraine at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, the presidential press service reported on Tuesday.

It said that President Viktor Yanukovich would not be able to attend the forum in connection with urgent work on the regional budgets.

“Due to the delay of the adoption of the 2014 state budget in January this year, the head of state need to do the urgent work on the regional budgets with the regions’ leadership. In particular, they will work out regional development programs for each region, they should also secure raising social standards, settle problems of regions and engage in other urgent state affairs that Viktor Yanukovich plans for 2014,” the report says.

The Davos Economic Forum will be held on January 22 - 25.
