Lavrov: Russia, Norway make contribution to withdrawing chemical weapons from Syria

MOSCOW, January 20. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia and Norway make contribution to withdrawing chemical weapons from Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after talks with Norwegian counterpart Borge Brende on Monday.

“We’re pleased with the fact that the positions of Russia and Norway on international problems coincide. One of the example is the countries’ participation in withdrawing chemical weapons from Syria for its following elimination,” Lavrov said.

For his part, the Norwegian minister said the country intended to cooperate with Russia in this field.
