MOSCOW, January 14.ITAR-TASS/. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and presidential Middle East envoy Mikhail Bogdanov met on Tuesday with Syria’s Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad to discuss preparations for an international peace conference on Syria, the so-called Geneva-2, the Russian foreign ministry reported.
The meeting was head at the initiative of the Syrian ambassador. “The two diplomats focused attention on efforts for the preparation of the Geneva-2 international conference on Syria planned to begin on January 22 in the context of the results of recent meetings Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had in Paris on January 12-13,” the ministry said.
