KUWAIT CITY, January 13, /ITAR-TASS/. Catherine Ashton, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said she was planning to visit Iran in the next several weeks.
Ashton arrived in Kuwait to attend a Syria donor conference scheduled for January 15.
January 11, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said Ashton had an open-ended invitation from Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to visit Tehran at her convenience.
