BAKU, January 12, /ITAR-TASS/. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev offered condolences to Israeli counterpart Shimon Peres over the death of former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
In a telegram of condolence to the Israeli president the Azerbaijani leader named Sharon as “a prominent statesman and politician.”
“Sharing your grief over this heavy loss, on my behalf and on behalf of the Azerbaijani people I offer deep condolences to you, the family and the near and dear of the demised man and the whole Israeli people,” the telegram reads.
