TEHRAN, January 11, 17:09 /ITAR-TASS/. EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton has been invited to visit Iran, Mehr News Agency quoted Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi as saying on Saturday.
“Mrs. Ashton has been openly invited to visit Tehran by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Javad Zarif when she wishes,” Araghchi said.
The EU foreign policy chief’s press service has not confirmed information.
The diplomat told Itar-Tass that Ashton’s visit to Tehran could be hardly be held next week because she would make a tour of Persian countries.
