KIEV, January 08, 18:52 /ITAR-TASS/. An African swine fever case has been registered in Ukraine’s eastern Lugansk Region.

A dead wild boar was found on January 5 in the region. “A tissue examination confirmed the African swine fever diagnosis,” the state veterinary and phytosanitary service said on Wednesday, January 8.

It said the situation was under control of the regional and national veterinary and phytosanitary authorities.

The previous such case was registered in 2012 in the southern Zaporozhye Region.
