Media: 34 people die in armed clash in Iraq's west

According to AP data, the gunbattle took place on the outskirts of the province's administrative center -- the Sunni city of Ramadi

AL KUWAYT, January 06, 0:25 /ITAR-TASS/. In the Iraqi province of Anbar, 22 servicemen, as well as 12 civilians have died in an armed clash between army units and al-Qaida militants, the Associated Press news agency reported on Sunday.

According to AP data, the gunbattle took place on the outskirts of the province's administrative center -- the Sunni city of Ramadi (380 km west of Baghdad). Besides, at least 58 people were wounded. There were no reports about casualties among terrorists.

On the same day in Ramadi, at least 25 militants were destroyed as a result of Iraqi military aviation strikes.
