Death toll rises in suicide bomber attack near Hezbollah offices in Beirut

BEIRUT, January 02, /ITAR-TASS/. A bomb hidden in a car went off in the densely-populated Haret Hreik quarter, the Hezbollah stronghold in southern Beirut, on Thursday, January 2.

The terrorist attack carried out by a suicide bomber during the rush hour when the nearby road was full of cars.

According to preliminary reports, three persons were killed and 12 injured, but the death toll is rising. Police and Hezbollah activists are trying to push the crowds away, fearing more explosions.

Hezbollah is a Shi'a Islamic militant group and political party based in Lebanon.
