MOSCOW, December 27. /ITAR-TASS/. The elimination of chemical weapons is an international problem, head of the Syrian National Council in Moscow Mahmoud al-Hamza said on Friday.

Commenting on a meeting of international representatives on the elimination of chemical weapons in Syria, al-Hamza said, “The meeting is focusing on technical problems. Of course, it is very important not to use chemical weapons in Syria.”

“People shouldn’t be hurt. This is the priority task,” the Syrian opposition leader said.

“Certainly, many people were affected by the effects of chemical weapons in Syria. The elimination of weapons is a big success of the international community. We come against using weapons of mass destruction,” he said.
