GENEVA, December 20, 22:41 /ITAR-TASS/. The Syria government has already handed over a list of its delegates to the Geneva-2 peace conference on Syria to Special Envoy of the United Nations Organization and the League of Arab States Lakhdar Brahimi, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said on Friday after a three-party meeting in the format of Russia-US-UN on the preparation for the Geneva-2 conference.
“The Syrian government has fulfilled its obligations, today they handed over a list of members of their delegation,” he said. “It will be led by Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem.”
“It will be a representative and highly professional delegation, which will include people authorized to hold talks and who represent the government’s position on the Syrian settlement,” he noted, adding that the list would be officially announced in a couple of days.
