EU summit closes in Brussels

No prospects for membership to Ukraine are offered

BRUSSELS, December 20. /ITAR-TASS/. EU winter summit has closed in Brussels, ending the Lithuania’s term of rotating presidency in the EU.

Greece has taken over the presidency for the next six months.

The EU did not offer prospects for full-fledged membership to Ukraine. EU Council President Herman van Rompuy said upon the end of the conference the EU reaffirmed its generous proposal to Ukraine to form a political association.
