France invites Russian Vice-premier Dmitry Rogozin to attend Days of Defense University

MOSCOW, December 19. /ITAR-TASS/. Chairman of the French Senate's Commission on International affairs Jean-Louix Carrere has invited Russian Vice-Premier Dmitry Rogozin to attend Days of Defense University, due in Bordeaux on September 8-9, 2014, as a guest of honor, the visiting representative of the French Senate told his Russian colleagues at a meeting at the Federation Council on Thursday.

"Rogozin is a very good choice for that mission because he was Russia's representative to NATO, he well knows the European standards and besides, he is a very interesting and charismatic person," said Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko.

On Thursday Jean-Louis Carrere became a first foreign laureate of the Russian medal "The Federation Council: 20 years" issued on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Upper Chamber of the Russian parliament.
