BANGKOK, December 19. /ITAR-TASS/. A Russian family with two children was attacked in Thailand, Southeast Asia, on Thursday. A burglar, who got inside a private house, where the Russian family lived in the Thai resort city of Hua Hin, had kept a 4-year-old girl hostage for 40 minutes while her parents were collecting their precious belongings for the burglar.

“He knew just several words in English - money, dollars, euro. He has grabbed our daughter, holding the knife to her throat, and put it clearly that he is not joking,” mother of the child Yelena told Itar-Tass. In her words, the incident has occurred at a private guarded settlement near Hua Hin on Thursday. The bandit has broken in the house through the window. “We turned to the police and plan to call our consulate,” Yelena said.

The parents of the child are in the state of the strongest shock. In their words, the girl was not hurt, probably not realizing what had happened to her. The burglar managed to steal the electric home appliances and jewellery items from the house, where the Russians lived.
