Ukrainian opposition ready to unblock parliament to debate budget next week

KIEV, December 18. /ITAR-TASS/. The opposition at the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament, demands holding plenary parliamentary meetings next week to debate a draft state budget for 2014, leader of the opposition faction Batkivshchyna Arseny Yatsenyuk told a press briefing on Wednesday.

“We demand holding plenary meetings all next week,” he said, noting that a draft federal budget for 2014 would be debated. He stated that the opposition would not permit to enact a law on state budget for 2014 with violations of the approval procedure.

Leader of the opposition faction UDAR (punch) Vitaly Klitschko added that the opposition had been prepared to unblock the Verkhovna Rada to debate the draft state budget for 2014.

The government has approved preliminarily the draft budget for 2014 on Wednesday.
