A high voter turnout was fixed at the parliamentary election in Turkmenistan on Sunday, with 91.3 percent of eligible voters or 2.796 million people casting their ballots, the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums in that Central Asian republic reported after the polling stations closed at 19:00 local time (18:00 Moscow time).
The voter turnout in 2008 was 94 percent.
