TEHRAN, December 11. /ITAR-TASS/. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Russia was the “best friend” as a member of the P5+1 (five permanent members of the Security Council and Germany) and relations with Russia were long-lasting ones.
“Our relations help ensure security in the region and around the world. They are long-term and fundamental,” Zarif said on Wednesday, December 11. “The role of Russia as a member of the P5+1 was very important and influential. This is our best friend.”
The minister also noted the importance of Russia’s role in “overcoming the regional catastrophe in Syria.”
“We cooperate on this issue and hope that this will help ensure global security,” he added.
