Lavrvov: Iran’s nuclear program should be taken “under total control of the IAEA

TEHRAN, December 11, 17:00 /ITAR-TASS/. Russia sees progress in co-operation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), RF Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after talks with his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif.

“We considered today the results of the Geneva meeting, agreement on a gradual and mutual advance towards the settlement of the situation around the Iranian nuclear programme. This work is aimed at recognition of Iran’s right to develop a peaceful nuclear programme, including the right to enrich uranium for peaceful uses with resolving all outstanding questions raised by the IAEA,” Lavrov said. “We note progress in relations between Iran and the Agency,” the minister said. He added that Iran’s nuclear program should be taken “under total control of the IAEA.
