Ukrainian spec ops police attempt to oust opposition supporters from Mayor's office

Several hundred protesters have still staying near the Mayor's office

KIEV, December 11. /ITAR-TASS/. The Berkut (Golden eagle) special task force unit of Ukrainian police has broken into the building of Kiev Mayor's office, attempting to oust supporters of the opposition who seized the building several days ago and created the opposition headquarters in the building.

Three police buses have barricaded the entrance to the building, while the Berkut servicemen are continuing the operation inside the building.

Meanwhile, the protesters who remained inside the building have been pouring water from the building windows onto the policemen outside.

Several hundred protesters have still been staying near the Mayor's office.

The protesters are being ousted from the premises of the Mayor's office in compliance with a court resolution which ruled that the occupation of administrative buildings in Kiev was illegal.
