MOSCOW, December 10. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia is categorically against any initiatives on Syria without preliminary agreement with the United Nations Security Council, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said on Tuesday.
“We are strongly against any initiatives on Syria without preliminary agreement with members of the United Nations Security Council, who have to deal with attempts to impose artificial deadlines on their activities in the humanities area or to set a priori non-realizable tasks,” he said. “Such activities should be carried out consistently and systematically on an unbiased and non-politicized basis, in line with the international humanitarian law.”
“On our part, we are committed to go on offering comprehensive humanitarian aid to the Syrian population both in multi-party formats and on the bilateral base,” Gatilov stressed.
