BEIJING, December 06. /ITAR-TASS/. The Chinese government praises the results of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich’s visit to Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said on Friday.
“Since China and Ukraine have established strategic partnership in 2011 relations between the two countries develop successfully,” the Chinese diplomat quoted President Xi Jinping as saying earlier.
“Based on the principles of long-term and strategic cooperation China continues to build mutually respectful and stable relations with Ukraine in order to increase well-being of both nations,” Xi Jinping said.
The Chinese leader called for taking measures to develop relations with Ukraine. “The parties should be committed to the principles of mutual trust and respect and back each other on the way of independence and territorial integrity. They also should intensify cooperation in exchanging specialists and closely cooperate to solve regional and international issues,” the Chinese president said.
“Viktor Yanukovich’s visit to China was successful,” he added.
