BEIJING, December 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich began his visit to China from one of the country’s oldest cities, Xian, where he saw the Terracotta Army, a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China.
Yanukovich, who arrived in China late on Tuesday, also visited the Xian Aircraft Company, a subsidiary of Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). The company employing 17,000 workers builds military and civil aircraft, in particular ARJ21 new regional jets. Moreover, it produces components for Airbus A319.
During the visit Ukraine and China are expected to focus on cooperation in aircraft building.
Later on Wednesday Yanukovich will leave for Beijing, where on Thursday he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Li Keqiang and other high-ranking officials.
