WASHINGTON, December 03. /ITAR-TASS/. US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland will visit Moscow on December 8-10. The press service of the US Department of State reported on Monday that Assistant Secretary Nuland will travel to Moscow, Russia where she will meet with senior Russian government officials to discuss the range of bilateral relations and global issues. She will also meet with foreign policy experts and civil society groups.
Nuland will arrive in Moscow from Tbilisi where she plans to meet on December 6 with Georgian government officials and opposition leaders.
Before that she will visit Kiev, Ukraine on December 5. “Assistant Secretary Nuland and Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Biswal will participate in the Ministerial meeting of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and meet with civil society representatives from across the OSCE region. Assistant Secretary Nuland will also engage in bilateral meetings with Ukrainian officials, parliamentary leaders, and civil society,” the US State Department reported.
Ahead of the trip to Kiev, Nuland will accompany US Secretary of State John Kerry “to the NATO Foreign Ministerial and related meetings in Brussels, Belgium (December 3-4). She will then accompany the Secretary to Chisinau, Moldova where they will meet with senior Moldovan officials and discuss bilateral issues, as well as Moldova’s path toward European integration,” the US State Department said.
