KIEV, December 02. /ITAR-TASS/. Protesters have blocked traffic near the government’s building in Kiev. Grushevskogo Street, where the main entrance to the building is, is blocked by a dozen vehicles with flags of Ukraine and the European Union.

Several thousand people have come to the building which is surrounded by the police.

The protesters tell the government’s staff to go back home, as on Monday the country has a national strike against the authorities’ policies. The staff members try to reach their managers on the phone. Some of the staff got instructions the working day is cancelled.

Protesters remain since Sunday in the building of the Kiev city administration and in the house of trade unions. Many of them spent the night at the administration’s hall, where they also have a catering station.

The so-called “headquarters of resistance” and a small media center are organised at the house of trade unions. Opposing members of the parliament are inside the building, too.

The traffic is blocked along streets Kreshchatic, Institutskaya, Mikhailovskaya and Gorodetskogo.
