KIEV, November 30, (ITAR-TASS). During the rally in support of the European integration in central Kiev, the police detained on Saturday 31 people, Olga Bilyk of the PR service at Kiev’s police told reporters on Saturday.

“We have detained 31 people, and all the administrative protocols have been filed. Now, all the detainees are released,” the source said.

The decision to push out participants in the rally in support for the European integration from the Independence Square was caused by their prevention Kiev’s city maintenance staff from their work, a representative of the Kiev police Olga Bilyk told the Ukrainian 5th television channel on Saturday.

The maintenance workers were about to bring their vehicles to the square to begin preparing for the New Year holidays, but “the protesters began throwing at them tins, burning sticks and other objects.”

“In that situation the decision was to use the Berkut forces, which with use of special means stopped the disorders,” she said.

“We have detained 31 people, and all the administrative protocols have been filed. Now, all the detainees are released,” the source said.
