Ukraine’s opposing MPs arrive to central Kiev after protesters clash with police

During the conflict situations there were about 1,500 protesters

KIEV, November 30, 9:36 /ITAR-TASS/. Participants in the rally in central Kiev supporting the country’s European integration had clashes with the police. Local media report about 200-300 Berkut military blocked in the square two trucks with equipment, which protesters use for speeches. Presently, the vehicles are on the other side of the square.

The police have pushed the protesters from Kreshchatik Street’s (central street in Kiev) lanes.

During the conflict situations there were about 1,500 protesters in the square. The 5 Channel reports cell communication was blocked as the police were working there.

Ukraine’s members of the parliament, representing the opposition, arrive urgently to the central part of the city. MP Andrei Shevchenko reports about several students detained and brought to a police station. Leader of Batkivshchyna Arseni Yatsenyuk is reported to have come there.

Kiev’s police say the decision to break up the rally was caused “by many violations” in the square. Several protesters are charged with throwing stones into Berkut’s military.

Now, the cleaning services are working in the Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Square of Independence) and in Kreshchatik.
