VILNIUS, November 29, 20:27 /ITAR-TASS/. Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich believes that it is vitally important to develop constructive relations within the triangle Ukraine-the European Union and Russia.

“We must do our best to build normal relations in the format the European Union-Ukraine-Russia, it is our duty, we are interested in it,” Yanukovich told journalists after his meeting with French President Francoise Hollande on Friday. In his words, further progress was impossible without discussion of ways to solve problems now facing Ukraine.

“It is important for us that the current timeout opens new possibilities for us,” he said.

On November 21, the Ukrainian government took a decision to suspend preparations for the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union over the difficult economic situation in Ukraine.
