VILNIUS, November 29. /ITAR-TASS/. The European Union will be a reliable partner for Ukraine only if Kiev takes another step towards Europe, German Chancellor Angela Merkel told journalists at the end of the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius, Lithuania.
“If Ukrainian leaders have the courage to take one more step towards Europe, the European Union will become a trustworthy partner for Kiev,” Merkel said, adding that the EU was also to discuss the issue with Russia.
Germany's chancellor noted that Europe’s doors remained open for Ukraine. “We should continue working in this direction,” she said. “We still have a long way to go.
