Ukraine leader seeks plan of action to remove differences in ties with Customs Union

VILNIUS, November 29. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich says a coordinated plan of action must be worked out to remove contradictions in cooperation with Russia and the other fellow members of the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Speaking at a plenary session of the Eastern Partnership summit on Friday, the president said he expected EU countries would revise their plan to build economically unjustified capacities to transport natural gas to Europe in bypassing Ukraine.

“A coordinated plan of action aimed to remove contradictions and settle problems in trade-economic cooperation with Russia and other countries of the Customs Union must become a separate major component of that work,” Yanukovich said. He said these difficulties were linked to the setting up of a free trade zone between Ukraine and the European Union.
