Five killed in blast in village near Kudankulam nuclear plant in India

According to preliminary information, the blast was caused by a home-made explosive device

NEW DELHI, November 26, 21:23 /ITAR-TASS/. Five persons were killed in blast that occurred on Tuesday in a village located in the vicinity of the Kudankulam nuclear power plant, which is being build in the state of Tamil Nadu jointly with Russia, the NDTV television channel reported on Tuesday.

According to preliminary information, the blast was caused by a home-made explosive device. The explosion killed five people. Currently, the state is a venue of rallies of protest against the commissioning of the nuclear power plant.

No further details are available. An investigation is underway.
