BEIJING, November 25. /ITAR-TASS/. Shenyang, capital of northeast China’s Liaoning, will introduce a 72-hour visa-free stay for transit passengers from 45 countries, including Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Canada, as of January 1, 2014, Xinhua news agency reported on Monday.
Travelers will be able to enjoy this right, if they hold third country visas and onward tickets to a third country, where they should leave within 72 hours, the local administration said. The new rules will boost tourism and yield revenues.
Next year Shenyang will become China’s seventh city after Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing and Dalian, where transit passenger will enjoy visa-free rules.
