Palestine ambassador to Russia calls for Palestinian issue conference

Fayed Mustafa suggested a conference similar to Geneva 2

MOSCOW, November 25. /ITAR-TASS/. It would be possible to convene a conference to settle the Palestinian problem that will be similar to a peace conference on Syria in Geneva, Palestinian Ambassador in Russia Fayed Mustafa said on Monday.

“We believe that after the Geneva conference on Syria and future Geneva-2 and probably Geneva-3 may be held,” the ambassador said. “Perhaps, one more Geneva conference - the third one or the fourth one may be convened and it will be convened to resolve the Palestinian problem?” he said.

“I do not say concretely to convene this conference exactly in Geneva,” the diplomat added. “For instance, it was proposed to convene a conference on Middle Eastern settlement in Moscow. What if this conference would turn in a new Geneva conference, where the Palestinian problem will be negotiated?” the ambassador noted.

“The Russian diplomacy played a major role in considerable progress in the resolution of the Iranian problem,” Mustafa added. “We pin high hopes on Russian diplomacy that they will put forward new initiatives to resolve the Palestinian problem,” he said.

The ambassador congratulated the international community on the progress reached in the talks with Iran. “We should take this agreement with Iran as an example so that we would be able to advance in the same successful way on the path to the resolution of the Palestinian problem,” he said.
