KIEV, November 24, 18:30 /ITAR-TASS/. Police have used CS spray near the government building during an opposition rally protesting against the delay of Ukraine’s association agreement with the EU, the press service of Kiev police reports, adding that police acted within its powers.
“Police officers indeed used CS spray within their powers and the limits of legislation,” a police report said.
According to available information, protesters tried to break through the police cordon outside the government building, spraying some substance that looked like gas. “With that in view, police had to use CS spray,” the press service said.
Clashes between police and protesters continue in front of the government building.
