KIEV, November 23, 15:12 /ITAR-TASS/. About 300 people carrying the EU flags and the yellow-blue national flags participate in a rally in the Maidan Nezalezhnosti /Independence Square/ in Kiev, organised in support of the agreement on Ukraine’s association to the EU. Most participants are residents of Kiev, and several groups also have arrived from Lvov and Lutsk.
On Friday, about 5,000 people participated in similar rallies.
Law enforcement forces attempted to push the people. Several police buses are by the square now.
Bigger demonstrations are expected to take place in Ukraine on Sunday. Ukraine’s union of industrialists and entrepreneurs will organise a rally in support of signing the association agreement with the EU. At noon, from the Kiev University a march will begin under the slogan “For European Ukraine,” and at 15:00 Moscow time a rally featuring leaders of the opposition will begin in Kiev’s European Square.
