TOKYO, November 22, 7:29 /ITAR-TASS/. The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has almost doubled the range of its main anti-ship rocket KN-01 which is now capable of reaching a distance of 300 km. At present, rocket installations have been already deployed in Hwangha-Namdo province on the coast of the Yellow Sea, the Seoul-based newspaper Chosun Ilbo reports Friday.

"The North has been testing those modernized rockets since 2003 and has achieved a substantial success," the paper reports quoting government sources.

The previous version of the KN-01 had a range of 160 km. So, the DPRK has now enhanced its combat capabilities in the Yellow Sea area where combat clashed with South Korea occured repeatedly.

The Armed Forces of the Republic of Korea on Friday start their exercises in the same area, with land troopp, the Navy and the Air Force taking part.
