Russians not affected by flooding in Sardinia

On November 20, a state of emergency was imposed in the south of the Apennines

MOSCOW, November 21. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian tourists having a rest on the Italian island of Sardinia have not been hurt by floodings after a cyclone and heavy rains, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) said on Thursday.

There are rather small Russian tourist groups on the island because November is low season in Italy, ATOR said.

“Several Russian tour operators are making charter flights to the island. By the end of the summer tours are being reduced,” ATOR reported.

According to Italian mass media, sixteen people have been killed in flooding in Sardinia. The search for one missing person continues.

On November 20, a state of emergency was imposed in the south of the Apennines. The work to cope with the consequences of flooding continues. Two-day mourning has been declared in Olbia, Emerald Coast, which was mostly hit by flooding.
