Iran in constant talks on Syria with Brahimi and UN senior official

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister noted that the country's "support to Syria, which is on the axis of resistance, will be continued"

MOSCOW, November 19, /ITAR-TASS/. Iran is holding constant consultations over the resolution of the military crisis in Syria with United Nations and League of Arab States Joint Special Envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi and U.N. Under-Secretary-General Jeffrey Feltman, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahiyan said here on Tuesday.

“Our support to Syria, which is on the axis of resistance, will be continued,” he noted. “Certainly, Iran will play a constructive and active role in political settlement of the Syrian issue,” he said.

“We are conducting talks on the issue with our partners in Russia and Damascus,” Abdollahiyan added. “We are also holding constant consultations with United Nations and League of Arab States Joint Special Envoy Lakhdar Brahimi and Mr. Feltman,” he said.

“Tehran and Moscow share the position over political resolution of the Syrian issue,” the Iranian deputy foreign minister noted. “We will continue our support very decisively in the future,” he said.
