Vikramaditya aircraft carrier transfers to Indian Navy

During the official ceremony the Russian and Indian sides signed the act of transferring the aircraft carrier to the Indian crew

SEVERODVINSK, November 16, (ITAR-TASS) India’s Navy have received the Vikramaditya aviation carrier of project 11430, which was converted from the Admiral Gorshkov heavy aircraft-carrying cruiser of project 11434. The new ship will become the Indian Navy’s flagship.

During the official ceremony the Russian and Indian sides signed the act of transferring the aircraft carrier to the Indian crew, the flag of the Indian Navy was raised on board. From the Indian side the act was signed by the commander of the aircraft carrier Commodore Suraj Beri, from the Russian side - Rosoboronexport’s director general Igor Sevastyanov.
