MOSCOW, November 13, 16:31 /ITAR-TASS/. The internal Syrian opposition welcomes the National Coalition of Opposition and Revolutionary Forces is prepared to participate in a peace conference Geneva-2, leader of the Syrian Popular Front for Change and Liberation Qadri Jamil told a news conference here on Wednesday.
“As for the National Coalition, its decision to go to Geneva is positive,” Jamil noted. In his words, for participation in the forum the coalition has put forward sooner “not preliminary conditions, but future conditions of what should be done then.”
“They can say what they want at the negotiating table, but it is important that they will come to Geneva, then it is possible to come to a compromise,” the oppositionist added. “It is good that they declared about the forming of an interim government. However, it is much more important that the coalition is preparing to go to Geneva,” he said.
“It is important that they will go there and what the coalition is saying will be considered in the future,” Jamil added.
Several delegations of the opponents of the Damascus incumbent authorities should be sent to participate in Geneva-2, Qadri Jamil said. “There are many organizations in the opposition, we do not even agree with Russia that it is needed to bring one delegation of the opposition (in Geneva),” he said. “The opposition cannot have a common platform,” he noted.
The question whether Bashar al-Assad may be the next president can be discussed only after the nomination of the candidates for the presidential elections, now this is an empty talk, the leader of the Syrian Popular Front for Change and Liberation said. “This problem can be discussed only after the nomination of a candidate, if now you raise this question, this is an empty and abstract talk,” he noted. “If you always put an emphasis on it, so, you want to split those, who want to go to Geneva-2,” he added.
