28 people injured, as school bus collides with truck in Cuba

HAVANA, November 3 (Itar-Tass) - Twenty-eight people have got injuries as a result of a road accident in central Cuba. The bus, which was trafficking schoolchildren, collided with a truck in Villa Clara Province, the Cuban state television reported on Saturday. The exact number of children, who were in the bus, was not reported.

All injured people received medical aid at the regional hospitals. It was reported that at least four people are in grave condition, one of them is on the critical list.

The law enforcement agencies began the investigation of the road accident.

According to official reports, about 500 people died, more than 6,000 people were injured from January to September 2013 on the roads in Cuba. A total of 8,520 road accidents occurred in the country that is 83 percent more than for the same period in 2012. This year the death rate in the road accidents in Cuba went up to the top place among the reasons for death in the age brackets between five and 18 years.
