Burdzhanadze recognises presidential elections in Georgia as valid

At the same time, he said, “They were far from European standards”

TBILISI, October 28 (Itar-Tass) - Presidential candidate Nino Burdzhanadze recognised the elections in Georgia as valid.

Speaking at a news briefing on Monday, Burdzhanadze said, “The elections can be recognised valid - the fact that most electors voted for a candidate from the Georgian Dream party, i.e. presidential candidate Bidzina Ivanishvili.”

She said, “The October 27 elections were freer than the previous ones.”

At the same time, Burdzhanadze said, “They were far from European standards.”

“The elections proved that instead of cohabitation [the coexistence of representatives of different political forces, which are in power] Georgia faces close cooperation between the two power forces,” she said.
