CARACAS, October 22 (Itar-Tass) - President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro on behalf of the republic’s people and government has condemned the terrorist act in Volgograd, the country’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement released on Monday.

“The government and people of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela express the deepest condolences to the people of the Russian Federation and solidarity with it, first of all, addressing the relatives of those killed and injured,” the document says. “Venezuela that is linked with Russia by close friendship ties expresses the hope for the preservation of peace and tranquillity in the brotherly country and believes that the masterminds of the criminal, cowardly act will be found and suffer severe punishment.”
