RABAT, October 20 (Itar-Tass) - The Damascus authorities are ready to receive the United Nations and the League of Arab States Special Envoy for Syria, Lakhdar Barhimi, in case he shows unbiased and professional attitude towards his mission, the Al Watan newspaper close to the Syrian government said on Sunday.
According to the newspaper, the U.N./LAS envoy will come to Damascus from Beirut next week.
Brahimi’s previous visit to Syria took place at the end of 2012. The Syrian authorities voiced criticism of the results of that visit.
Brahimi is expected to visit Qatar, Turkey and Iran on his regional tour.
