11 Yemeni servicemen killed in terrorist attack

Dozens injured

CAIRO, October 18. (ITAR-TASS). — In Yemen, 11 servicemen were killed and over a dozen injured as a result of a terrorist attack. According to Al Arabiya TV channel, the explosion occurred near the command center of the national army in the southern Yemeni province of Abyan.

Police reported that the explosive device was set off by a suicide bomber. Commander of one of the Yemeni army’s subdivision was injured in the attack.

None of extremist groups operating in the area has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. However, security agencies believe that behind the attack could stand Al Qaeda militants.
