UNITED NATIONS, October 17 (Itar-Tass) - The United Nations General Assembly on Thursday elected Lithuania, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Chad and Chile non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council by secret ballot.

All the five countries gained the required two thirds of the votes.
