DUSHANBE, October 3 (Itar-Tass) - Five U.S. citizens, who went missing several days ago in eastern Tajikistan’s Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province in the Pamir Mountains, are found safe and sound and will be brought to Dushanbe, Tajikistan’s capital, by a helicopter of the Tajik government in a few minutes, the Tajik National Security State Committee told Itar-Tass on Thursday.

The U.S. citizens were rowing in canoe in the national park in the Pamir Mountains, a source in the committee said. The phone communication was temporarily lost in this highland region that caused concerns for the U.S. diplomatic mission, the source said. A U.S. tourist has got a leg injury not dangerous for his health, the source said.

The helicopter of the Tajik state-run air company will bring them to Dushanbe and will pass them to the U.S. Embassy.
