UN head to pass recommendations on Syrian chemical weapons to UN Security Council on October 7

They will be discussed by the U.N. Security Council in the evening on October 10

UNITED NATIONS, October 2 (Itar-Tass) - U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will submit in the U.N. Security Council a report with the recommendations over the role of the council in resolving the problem of chemical weapons in Syria, Azerbaijani Permanent Representative in the United Nations Agshin Mekhdiyev, who presides in the U.N. Security Council in October, told reporters on Wednesday.

“After the U.N. Security Council approved the resolution on the chemical weapons in Syria on September 27 we expect recommendations on the issue from the U.N. general secretary on October 7. They will be discussed by the U.N. Security Council in the evening on October 10,” he told a news conference.

The diplomat noted that the report of the U.N. general secretary will concern “the role of the U.N. Security Council” in the resolution of the situation with chemical weapons in Syria.
