BEIJING, September 30 (Itar-Tass) - China has decided to send own experts to Syria to take part in eliminating chemical weapons and providing financial aid, Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said on Monday.
“China is holding active consultations with the U.N. Security Council and the Executive Council of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in order to contribute to taking decisions and adopting resolutions on Syria,” Hong Lei said.
China “lauds the soonest convocation of the Geneva-2 conference on Syria and hopes on the positive results”, the diplomat said.
