BELGRADE, September 20. (ITAR-TASS). Unidentified criminals have activated an explosive device near the office of Telecom company in the town of Kosovska Mitrovica in the north of the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo. No victims were reported, however, the building has been damaged as a result of the incident, which occurred early in the morning, according to police reports.
The investigation is conducted on the site, nearby streets are blocked.
The incident occurred less than 24 hours after the attack on the convoy of the Rule of law EU Mission in Kosovo town of Zvecan. On Thursday, two cars were attacked with assault rifles, and one of the mission employees, a citizen of Lithuania, was killed.
Observers link both incidents to the upcoming November 3 local authorities’ election in Kosovo, which is opposed by a large part of Serbs living in the autonomous province.
